Cost saving strategies
- Concentrated Purchasing: We will drive the cost of goods down by concentrating purchasing at as few vendors as possible.
- Discontinued Category: Each week vendors contact us with discontinued items. The price savings are between 30% - 80% of the End Quantity Price. While these items will not be the core items in your catalog, this is a way for personnel to reduce spend significantly and have different options on a regular basis.
- Shipping Costs: Our prices do not include shipping. We pass the shipping charges (UPS) on to the customer without markup. The customer can choose between using its own shipping account, or using Clayton Kendall’s.
- Overseas Sourcing: Clayton Kendall will analyze your purchasing patterns to identify core items that would qualify for overseas sourcing.
Cost saving strategies for larger programs
- Volume Incentives: As the size of the program grows, our markup declines.
- Negotiated Markup: For programs that have a guaranteed spend of at least $1 million per year, Clayton Kendall uses a competitive fixed negotiated markup percentage for all items in the program.
- Rebate Program: We will pass on to you the portion of any annual rebate we receive from vendors on your purchases.
